The Royal Order of the Lion of Godenu
Introduction
The Royal Order of the Lion of Godenu is the lowest Order of Merit awarded for outstanding service and support to the Royal House and the people of Godenu. Any individual can be awarded with a rank in the Royal Order of the Lion of Godenu.
Grades of the Order
The RLG consist of six grades:
• Knight/Dame (KRLG/DRLG)
• Officer (ORLG)
• Commander (CRLG)
• Grand Officer (GORLG)
• Grand Cross (GCRLG)
• Grand Cross with Collar (GCCRLG)
Privileges
Recipients are entitled to use the postnominal corresponding to their grade in the Order. Recipients at the rank of Grand Cross and Grand Cross with Collar are entitled to use the prefix style of “His or Her Excellency”. Recipients at the rank of Grand Officer or Commander are entitled to use the prefix style of “The Honourable”. No other ranks in the Order are entitled to the use of a prefix style.
The Order is usually granted for life in all grades. Only rarely, at the Grand Cross level, may it be granted as a hereditary dignity to reward exceptional service to the Royal House.
All recipients are entitled to wear the appropriate insignia for their grade in the Order and are allowed to use the Order’s insignia in their heraldry reflecting the appropriate grade.
